Kelly began practicing yoga during her time at the University of Iowa. She practiced on and off until she moved back home and took her first power vinyasa class. SHE WAS HOOKED! The challenge of strength and flexibility was what Kelly needed in a yoga practice. The constant creativity that the teachers can express is uplifting.
Kelly began teaching in 2012 through a yoga fit certification in a private studio. When Karen, Mick, and Power Yoga on Main were recognized as a RYT school, she knew she had to learn from some of the best! After completing 200 hours of studying the ins and outs of yoga and workshops with Carmen Aguilar, Philip Urso, and Mara Ina Healy, she felt more in tune with her practice and aware of how to teach students at Power Yoga on Main.
Kelly has studied kinesiology, anatomy, and body movements through college and believes that power yoga is best for any body. Of course injuries can happen in anything you do; however with practice of balance, strength, and flexibility, they happen less often. Kelly’s body has endured many injuries and tight muscles over the years; and she can honestly say that yoga has changed her body and mind significantly. Kelly is here to challenge your bodies and share the changes you will feel both mentally and physically!
