Michael has been practicing yoga for six years. His journey began in Chicago as he left the sporting world of soccer after 20 years of competitive play in hopes to find a more peaceful practice to expand his mind as well as continue his asana. Now, as a certified 200-hour vinyasa-flow focused instructor, he finds passion in providing an open environment for students to become acclimated with their physical and spiritual selves. With his focus on yoga for survivors of trauma, Michael can amplify the experience of any student from beginner to experienced practitioner in a safe environment with the warm understanding that each student is here for a different reason. His flow will challenge each practitioner at their own pace of their journey with room to go an inch further every sequence.
In the last 15 months since certification, Michael has been teaching yoga around the world. Focusing on power flow in Australia, alignment and various sequences in Morocco, and accommodating barriers in Peru. Michael has grown into himself as a guide. Now with the ability to teach yoga in both English and Spanish, he prides himself on breaking down flow into understandable segments that allow for deeper, more powerful growth in his students. He lives by the mantra of the Heart Sutra: Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha. Translation: Go now, go forth, go on to the great beyond. How sweet the sensation of liberation.
